Effective Techniques in Calming Your Pet Cat

Although it is hard to believe but cats can be stressed also like human beings and they need an avenue to de-stress themselves to return to their normal routine and to feel good.
What are the causes of cat stress?
Like human beings, there are things and events which serve as stressors for cats such as:
- Traveling
House relocation
- Visiting the veterinarian
- Presence of other cats within their territory
- Scary noises
- New pet in the house
- Strong scents
- Fleas
- Loss of companion
Like humans, cats also show signs of stress like scratching on the furniture, their tails become full, persistent urinating in places other than their litter box, loss of appetite, overeating, irritability, persistent meowing, bedding, eating of plants, unusual behavior, frantic running around and biting. If your cat shows these symptoms, then you should de-stress your pet immediately because like humans, stress is harmful to their health also.
Some pet owners bring their pets immediately to the veterinarian due to fear that something bad will happen to their beloved pets. Nevertheless, there are other ways that you can de-stress your cats without bringing them to the veterinarian. Some pet owners fear that stress in cats will cause detrimental health effects like hair loss, urinary problems and eating disorders. Before you initiate a move to de-stress your pet, you should evaluate the stressors first.
Ways to de-stress your pet cats:
- If the stressor is other pets in the house, then you should keep the cat away from other pets or cats.
- Avoid feeding or doing immediate fix when your cat is violent or stressed because it reinforces their bad behavior. However, you can give them reward for their good behavior.
- When stressed, you can speak to them in calm voice and avoid yelling at them because it will make them more stressed.
- You can give your cat her favorite cat food to calm her down. You can also massage her to relax her and to help her to sleep.
- You can provide a hiding place for your cat to give him some privacy when relaxing and resting. Bear in mind that cats too need to cool their anger down before they can interact and can socialize with other cats and other people. You can either give her a cat box or a quite room which serves as their resting haven.
- If your pet is stressed with loud noises, you can turn off loud music and put on soothing music to calm her down.
- You can give your cat her favorite toys to play, to distract her or to give her exercise.
By following these simple tricks, you can de-stress and can relax your stressed cats in no time.

How to Calm Down Your Kitten

The kitten is tearing up your house, biting your feet, scratching your furniture and running around chasing its own shadow so loud in the middle of the night that you can't sleep. It is ok, before you bring in the priest and try to expel the evil; it is just a stage, it to will pass.
Think of your kitten as a toddler. You would never expect a toddler to sit perfectly still and be constantly calm. In fact if this happened you would probably think something is wrong and schedule a doctor appointment immediately. The same thing should be said about your kitten, it is healthy for a kitten to be playful, if at anytime she starts acting weak or lethargic it is impartitive that you seek veterinarian help immediately.
If you do not have kids yourself, you have seen other parents with their young children at the park, the kids are running around like crazy and the parents are allowing it. It isn't because they are irresponsible parents; it is because they have learned a valuable secret. The more the kids run around the more energy they expel, meaning that they will be tired sooner.
Your kitten is the same way. Play with them, take the time to wear them out and they will be calm when it is time to settle down. Every hour that you are home with your kitten you should commit at least ten minutes do doing nothing but playing with your kitten. Go to the pet store and purchase a toy, or even get a sting and have her chase it. Use your imagination, not only will this time together be a great bonding experience but it will also tire out your little ball of energy.
If your kitten is doing more than being playful, it is important to stop bad and hurtful habits before that kitten grows into a cat. Let's use climbing the curtain as example. If you have tried wearing them out and they are still not breaking the habit of climbing the curtains it is important to take incorporate a punishment. Get a small spray bottle and fill it with water, every time that kitten is one the curtains spray her soon she will associate the bad behavior with the water and she will stop doing it.
As your kitten becomes more at home with your family the wildness with slowly wear off. It is important to let her know that you see that she is behaving. Reward her for lying calmly when it isn't play time. Giving your kitten a treat for being good with make her want to do it more. The most important thing that you can do is remain patient. The kitten is just a baby and does not know how things work. You have to tell her what her boundaries are.
Yelling at your cat is not the answer, they will not respond to it. Let them play and play with them. Much to fast you will have a full grown cat on your hands, and you will be missing the entire cute little kitten things that they use to do. Take responsibility; make sure that you know what you are getting yourself into before you bring the cute little ball of fluff home. More times than not kittens get abandon because the owners weren't prepaid for how to deal with them.

How To Calm Your Cat

Struggling with a cat that has a mind of his own?
Do you know how to calm your cat?
Here is the secret on how to help your cat to cope with stress. Cats will always show you signs if they are not feeling well. Usually they will do something that is not their normal nature. The normal nature of a cat is to show interest in his environment and to be playful.
Abnormal nature may include eating plants, chewing through power cords or swallowing inedible objects. Less drastic signs are also easy noticeable, like being restless or eating less than usual. Perhaps your cat is just restless and you are looking for ways to calm him/her?
People tend to spend money on veterinary visits and buy additional medication. The strange and unusual behaviour of the cat is because of his/her stress levels. If you don't approach the situation correctly, you will end up stressed out and frustrated.
One of the best-proven ways to lower your cat's stress levels, is to use products that can calm your cat immediately. Yes, I do mean immediately. Your cats' behaviour can immediately be transformed by the use of natural pheromones. Every living being (and your cat) sends off a natural pheromone through their perspiration. These pheromones have various functions, like attracting a mate of the opposite gender. The new approach in the field of veterinary medicine is to capture the essence of pheromones and make them available in a usable product, like a plug-in.
The pheromones can transform your cat's life in an instant. Even cats with asthma or allergies can benefit from pheromones treatment. Why does the pheromones treatment work? The results will be produced by you cat's immediate increase in a general sense of well-being. Why not try natural pheromones yourself?
